Brief
In learning a more technical and precise 3D CAD program, SolidWorks, we explored forms and proportions through the creation of realistic, functional LEGO renders. Under Howard Munroe's tutelage, I learned the intricacies of design drawings, and a new skill set with respect to CAD design.
LEGO Rondo Stereo
Based on the 1970s Telefunken Rondo Stereo 101, this LEGO design takes full advantage of the basic functions of SolidWorks. Each piece is precisely measured, with consideration for the overall construction and accuracy of proportion.
The LEGO Rondo Stereo is not only a picture perfect recreation of a classic design, but has a closing lid and movable needle. Rendered in textures of aluminum and mahogany, it brings the same class and style as the real thing.
